Our Mission
The Office of the City Auditor's mission is to serve as a model performance-auditing organization that delivers in-depth, unbiased, and meaningful results to the citizens of Oakland. We do this by identifying and auditing the areas of government most vulnerable to fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement.

Our Vision
We are devoted to helping the City ensure accountability and integrity, to improving operations, and to instilling confidence in citizens and stakeholders. We are committed to shining a light on significant issues throughout the City by providing independent, impartial assessments of how public resources are managed. We are dedicated to working with City administration to address these issues and operate our government more responsibly, ethically, effectively, and efficiently in the best interests of the public.
